Seville, Spain: Carmen is a factory worker, free spirit, and the toast of the town. She is brave, beautiful, and independent. She does what she wants. She falls in and out of love. Then, her obsessed ex violently and tragically rejects her choice to move on.

Carmen is sung in French with live English captions. This production features the Portland Opera Chorus and Orchestra.

This production includes adult content—including physical violence, gun use and simulated gun shots, smoking, and murder.

Captions: For patrons who are deaf or hard of hearing, each performance (whether virtual or in person) includes live English captions projected above the stage, or streamed virtually on the screen.

Audio Description: For patrons who are blind or have low-vision, the Sunday matinee performance will include a live audio description of the action and dialogue onstage. Patrons who wish to listen to the description may pick up a headset free-of-charge, on a first-come, first-served basis, with ID from the Coat Checkroom at Keller Auditorium.
