Music on Main: Outer Orbit

Outer Orbit // Kissing My Love (Live)

Funk Soul Collective

Outer Orbit is a funk soul collective led by Galen Clark (Trio Subtonic, Sleater Kinney) and fronted by vocalist Sarah Clarke (Dirty Revival, Con Brio). The band features an all-star lineup of Tyrone Hendrix (Prince, Allen Stone), Damian Erskine (Skerik Band), Peter Knudsen (Ghost-note, greaterkind) and Mike Elson (Swatkins and the Positive Agenda). Coming fresh off of their freshman self-titled album release, featuring artists like John Medeski, Nicholas Semrad (Cory Henry), and Saeeda Wright (Prince, Liv Warfield), the band has been making a name for themselves despite the pandemic, exploding onto the live music scene playing Waterfront Blues Festival and Jam Revival. Outer Orbit brings original burning soul and pocket heavy funk while drawing on a range of influences from Sly Stone and The Meters to Aretha Franklin and Emily King.
