2022 Biamp PDX Jazz Festival: Brad Mehldau - Cancelled

Please note, this event has been cancelled. Brad Mehldau has contracted COVID and will not be able to perform as scheduled. He is recovering at his home in The Netherlands. Ticket holders will be automatically refunded.

Welcome to the 2022 Biamp PDX Jazz Festival, February 17 – 26, 2022, celebrating jazz music and culture in Portland for 19 consecutive years!

The 2022 Biamp PDX Jazz Festival includes artists spanning the full breadth of the genre; artists who are driving the evolution of jazz figure prominently alongside GRAMMY® Award-Winning masters.

One of the most lyrical and intimate voices of contemporary jazz piano, Brad Mehldau has forged a unique path, which embodies the essence of jazz exploration, classical romanticism and pop allure. From critical acclaim as a bandleader to major international exposure in collaborations with Pat Metheny, Renee Fleming, and Joshua Redman, Mehldau continues to garner numerous awards and admiration from both jazz purists and music enthusiasts alike. His forays into melding musical idioms, in both trio (with Larry Grenadier on bass and Jeff Ballard on drums) and solo settings, has seen brilliant re-workings of songs by contemporary songwriters like The Beatles, Cole Porter, Radiohead, Paul Simon, Gershwin and Nick Drake; alongside the ever evolving breath of his own significant catalogue of original compositions.

With his self-proclaimed affection for popular music and classical training, “Mehldau is the most influential jazz pianist of the last 20 years” The New York Times.

PDX Jazz Event Attendance Policy

IMPORTANT HEALTH & SAFETY GUIDELINES

VACCINE REQUIREMENT

All PDX Jazz staff, volunteers, and patrons attending PDX Jazz events must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, regardless of age, which includes receiving a booster shot. Prior to entering any venue hosting a PDX Jazz event, all individuals will be required to provide proof of full vaccination (an official COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card issued by the CDC) along with a valid government issued photo ID (a valid student ID from an education institution may be accepted for minors under the age of 18 who are accompanied by an adult guardian).

Individuals who have received the two-dose regimen of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or one dose of Johnson & Johnson, who are not eligible for a booster, must provide a negative COVID-19 test (PCR test taken within 2 days of event entry or Antigen [rapid] test taken within 1 day of event entry). Negative test results must be from a test administered by a licensed healthcare facility. At-home tests are not accepted. Recipients of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines become eligible for a booster six months after their second dose, and recipients of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine become eligible two months after their single dose.

Children ages 4 and under, for whom there is currently no vaccine available, are not permitted to attend PDX Jazz events.

“Fully Vaccinated” means that an individual has received their final vaccination dose of either the two-dose regimen of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or one dose of Johnson & Johnson at least 14 days before the event date, and at least 7 days have passed since receiving their booster shot.

PDX Jazz will not recognize any exemptions to this vaccination requirement and policy.
